A new reality-TV show had it’s first showing this week in Sweden – it is called “Svenska Hollywoodfruar” (Swedish Hollywood wives) and being the curious person that I am I had to look at the trailer for it. I am speechless (and that my friends do not happen very often)!!
As the title gives away it follows the lives of three Swedish women living the so called “high life” in Hollywood. One of them is Anna Anka, married to the singer Paul Anka. Now, this woman is absolutely incredible. And that is not in a positive way. She did some remarks on the show – and later in various interviews – that has made headlines in the newspapers and that has started quite a debate and I am not that surprised to be honest – or what do you say about these?
“Swedish dads are tragic with their changing of diapers and equal rights. A real American man panics if he spends more than 20 minutes alone with the child”
– I didn’t even know there was a difference in American men – real and unreal. Wow, you learn something new every day. Any American men having a comment on this?
“Here the mothers don’t nag their daughters about education or going to college but about finding a boyfriend/husband who is an athlete or a celebrity. Isn’t it wonderful?”
– Oh yes, being an airhead golddigger must be the most wonderful thing in the world and Mrs Anka is speaking out of experience on this one.
“Sexually it’s the womans obligation to make sure that the man is satisfied, if she doesn’t she only has herself to blame if he is unfaithful.”
– My obl… what!!?? I’m so stunned I don’t even have a comment for this…
“I want to be a role model for Swedish women”
– Sorry honey but I don’t see that one happening…
And the we have my favorite one;
“Then we have the big problem of this new internet generation. It is uneducated and ungrateful and their lives on blogs and twitter totally meaningless.”
– Yup, my life is so meaningless I don’t even know why I even bother blogging and twittering about it…but guess I’m too stupid to know any better….
Ja du, vad ska man säga. Orden räcker liksom inte riktigt till…
Jag satt bara och gapade när jag läste uttalandena…och funderade lite lätt på vilket sekel hon befinner sig i. Min förebild, det lär hon då aldrig bli! 🙂
