Soaked

As those of you who have followed this blog know I am a big fan of Adam Lambert – not even his highly criticized performance at the American Music Awards this last weekend will change that, on the contrary, I thought he was great and besides, what was so chocking about it really…I mean, it’s not like we haven’t seen things like it before only it’s been with female entertainers and then for some reason it’s more ok. Stupidity.

Anyways.

Bought his album the other day and after having listened to it a couple of times there are a few song that for me stand out. One is If I had you”, the song written and produced by Max Martin (yay, go Sweden!!!), another is “Time for Miracles”, the song from the move 2012

But, my favorite so far has to be “Soaked”, a song that I think shows what a fantastic voice he has. Might not be everyones cup of tea but I’m a sucker for songs like this.

Wanna listen to it? I’ve attached it below just for you….

Ok, you should always try to see the positive side of things and that is what I’m trying to do in regards to the post below – I have so wanted to get the new 3GS but couldn’t really justify getting one but guess now I don’t have to do that. Justify it that is. So you see, there can be some good in the bad.

Until the phone incident my Saturday was brilliant. The gang went to a sneak preview of “Victor/Victoria” that is being set up here in Singers. The event was held at St. Regis and the dresscode was andro-chic and us being us we went all in for this one. As soon as we arrived we were surrounded by photographers wanting to take our pics and that is something this group never say no to, yes we are a bunch of cam divas. Cannot say I was surprised by this, the interest of the photogs, as we were among the few who had taken the theme to heart and really gone for it, and it was appreciated…apparently we ended up being the headpic for the article that was in the papers on Sunday. Am trying to get a copy of it and if I do I will scan it for you guys to see….until then, here are a few chosen ones from my album.

Waiting for red

I wasn’t so sure to begin with but after having listened to it a couple of times I must say that Kent‘s new single “Töntarna” – that was released digitally yesterday (album out November 6) – is not bad.

Not bad at all.

Alive and Kicking

One of the bands who are also to play at F1 Rock are Simple Minds and I would sooo have loved to go see them – that would have been such a walk down memory lane it’s unbelievable – but as they are on tonight that is a no-go. Unfortunately.

So, as I cannot see them live I am watching their vids on YouTube instead. Not as good but better than nothing. And I’m instantly thrown back to my teens….

F1 Rocks

F1 mania has hit Singapore and I am gearing up for what is to be a manic weekend.

We’re kicking it off tonight with a farewell party for Rachel at the rooftop of  Screening Room, a party that will most likely end very early in the morning.

Tomorrow night the gang is off to F1 Rocks at Fort Canning Park to watch, among others, The Black Eyed Peas and Beyonce. This will be followed by partying somewhere, most probably Supperclub…if we do not decide to make a stop at the Fuel Festival at the National Museum. See another late night coming on this one.

Sunday it’ll of course be the race followed by yet another party. In between all this it might be pooltime and brunch somewhere.

Thank god I have taken Monday off as I can already feel the lack of sleep.

But, it’ll be great  fun and it’s only once a year after all….

Multiples

Found this on another blog and I just have to share it with you.

The guy singing is Sam Tsui – and yup, he’s the only one on stage in the video (apart from the guy to the far left who is helping with the sound effects).

Brilliantly brilliantly done!!!

Kari Callin auditioning for America’s got talent 2009 – what a fantastic voice!!

Someone else who also got judged by her looks, atleast in the beginning of her career, is one of my absolut fav singers of all time – Barbra Streisand – and the song Kari chose (from the musical “West Side Story”) has also been sung by Ms. Streisand and personally I think this is one of the best performances of the song.

SSO Classics in the Garden

Went to see Singapore Symphony Orchestra playing in the Botanic Gardens on Sunday evening – great fun. The friends had brought with them a real treat for our picnic, loads of yummie cheeses and wine, and the rain we had had earlier in the day made the grass a bit damp but that didn’t dampen our spirits.

Have a friend playing in the orchestra but she had the night of unfortunately so have to go see her play some other time instead. The concert lasted for about 1,5 hour and it was a perfect way to end the weekend – which all in all had been a very good one.

Keyword: relaxation.
