The LEICA M7 Edition Hermès.

Only 200 are being made. And it costs a staggering USD 14.000…but my god, what a beauty it is!!!

Wanted

While we’re on the subject of bags – if there is one bag that I really do want,  it’s this one.

I’m not that big of a fan of Louis Vuitton – it kind of got boring after like everyone went to Thailand and came home with loads of fake bags and you could see them everywhere.

But…must admit that I do like this one from their Cruise 2010 Womens collection. Bloody expensive though.

And I absolutely love the sandals. Those I want!

Oh my, some days you sure feel that you are not 20 anymore. Yesterday was one of those. Was at the opening party for Burberry at Ion Orchard on Tuesday night. And what a party it was. People lining the red carpet (which was actually beige….) to spot celebrities…and there we came walking, was a very surreal feeling. But fun.

Once inside it was packed with people and the bubbly was flowing freely. The Creative Director of Burberry, Christopher Bailey, was there and the poor thing had to have his pics taken with almost everyone. Yes, us incluced. Of course. But guess it’s part of his job when going to events like this.

Afterwards me and Fx was to have dinner at Hyatt with one of his former colleagues and friends but we ended up getting a big part of the gang coming with us so instead of a quiet dinner it became a much bigger one. Kudos to the staff at Hyatt for arranging so we could have one of the private diningrooms. Lots of food, lots of drinks, lots of laughter. Brilliant night. Late night. And oh, did I suffer for it yesterday. But worth it. And am feeling a lot fresher today. There’s not much that a good nights sleep cannot fix. Now we have to gear up for the weekend, even though it will be a rather mundane one.

For the second weekend in a row I have had changes to my weekend plans – the client I was to help with a photo shoot tomorrow (and who postponed it last week already) just informed me that she cannot make tomorrow either. Let’s see if we can get this done during the week instead. Third time lucky kind of thing.

This means though that I now don’t have any excuse to do all the boring housework that I haven’t really had the time to do for the past week or two. So, tomorrow I will be dancing around the house with the vacuum cleaner instead of pressing the shutter of a camera. Or spend some time by the pool at mums. Or shopping. Or just about anything that doesn’t involve chores. Ah, dreaming!

Am sneaking out of the office earlier today. Fx has invited me to go along to an event at the Hermès store so need to go home, put the face on and dress up so I don’t look too out of place among the tai-tais and socialites. Am starving so hope they have something to nibble on, otherwise the champagne will go straight to my head. If I go for the bubbly that is. Am thinking of being a good girl and do a non-alcoholic evening. The old body would be forever grateful for it.

But on the other hand……it is Friday after all.

And so another weekend has come and gone and we’re back at Monday again. Gah!

I must admit I am a bit surprised that I actually managed to have a quiet one – well, somewhat anyway. The dinner with Fx – and Nicky – on Friday did turn out to be a very, very easy one, we met up at Hyatt after work and were done by 11 at which time we all headed home. Now that is quite unheard of, haha…

Saturdays party was a bit more wild but not over the top. After having gone through more or less my entire wardrobe after something fitting for the theme (60’s & 70’s) I decided to go the easy route – a pair of highwaisted flared jeans with a flannel shirt tied under the bust. Very Daisy Duke. Straigthened my hair and did a middle-parting and voilà, I was ready for That 70’s Show. Only missed an Ashton but you cannot have it all…Pictures will be posted later.

On to yesty which was very uneventful, spent more or less the entire day on the sofa watching old movies. Plan was to clean the house but realized that the dustrats (or maybe I should call them cats….) would hardly run away if I waited another day or two. I really ought to get myself a maid, hate doing that sort of housework. Yes, I am lazy. And proud of it.  Hmm, know my posting from Friday said I was to meet Tam for tea but that slipped both our minds in the midst of everything. She has a more valid reason for forgetting than me though.

And as this has to be one of the most uninteresting posts in the history of this blog I will finish it off before I have bored you all to death….

I have, like I would guess a lot of others, eagerly waited for the first pictures from the Jimmy Choo collection for H&M to get out on the net and now they are finally here. After having had a look I cannot say I was that impressed to be honest. Yes, there are some nice pieces and shoes but I didn’t really get that “wow-feeling”…not like I did when seeing the Matthew Williamson collection (which I really liked).

Only piece I kind of like is the long dress in the middle in the picture below, but I would not queue up for hours to get it. Not that I would be able to even if I wanted to as we don’t have an H&M here in Singapore. Strangely enough. But still.

Anyway, if you want to have a look at more pictures of the collection (in stores from November 14) I suggest you pay Nitrolicious a visit.

Searching

If anyone from Singapore happens to read this blog and knows of any good vintage stores please let me know. Have got my mind set to find a 50’s style prom/swing dress for a ball in a couple of months and so far I am stuck in my search.

Ok, one option is to order online – and there are endless of good stores there – but as sizing is not the easiest of things I would rather find one I can actually try on first. Not an easy task.

Wishes coming true

A couple of postings ago I said that I so wanted to see “The September Issue” and was hoping it was to be shown here – I was really lucky this weekend as they decided to have a sneak preview of it so me, Nicky, Fx and some other friends went to see it Monday.

Brilliant movie. Absolutely loved it. And if you love fashion as I do, you really have to go see it. So worth it.
